Must-Do Repairs Before Selling
Claudia’s Tip of the Day
As I was going through my morning ritual of catching up with all the latest real estate news, I ran across this article that has great advice for potential sellers.
There are so many things to think about before you put your home on the market. I remember just a few years ago when home owners/sellers had an upper-hand and didn’t have to give their home a complete face-lift before putting it on the market. I’ve mentioned in earlier posts that curb appeal, fresh paint, floor coverings, etc. are vital components to selling your home, but what about the things you don’t see at first glance?
I recommend a home inspection before you list your house. Why? So, once a contract is pending on your home you are able to begin the moving transition with confidence, knowing there won’t be any surprises when the buyers have an inspection. Also, if an issue does arise when you have an inspection, you can make the repairs on your own terms and not the buyer’s. In my opinion, too many contracts fall through because of a bad inspection report.
Just in case you didn’t click the link to the article mentioned, here is their list of recommended repairs. Having these items completed before you list your home may help you glide through the inspection process.
